As of December 15, 2007, the PrivatePhone service offered by NetZero will no longer be available. NetZero has made special arrangements with Packet8 for current PrivatePhone customers to transfer their number to Packet8 Freedom Unlimited Service for $19.99 a month, if you so desire.

There are other voice mailbox services out there that are free, but I'm going to have to do a little more research before I can recommend any of them.
